His Passion…
"For me, as an engineer and racer, constructing a race track is a true career highlight. I was lucky enough to mix work with pleasure, my profession as an architect with my passion for motor sports. When I started in my career, I loved to work on race tracks. I still can’t imagine anything better." Today Tilke's offices employ more than 120 engineers and architects.

His Design…
"We create the room for drivers to push the envelope but still be safe with the help of very generous safety run offs.” Many drivers consider Hermann's designs as the most challenging but rewarding and save.

His Concept…
"Visitor comfort, more passing opportunities, better views, more exciting races, optimal safety features." Hermann's great rapport with the leading drivers, team leaders and promoters and his experience as a racecar driver allows him to understand and implement small but important details into his track design. His teams constantly work on optimizing turn radii, breaking points and asphalt compositions for their projects.

His Philosophy…
"The hardest thing in racetrack design is that you won't get a second chance. You have to get it right the first time. That is why we employ the best and biggest team in the industry working with cutting edge technology. I can drive a track with our specialized 3D simulator while still in the planning phase."

His Dream…
"I would love to build a track either in the heart of a city or in the mountains." The Ring of the Rockies features spectacular elevation changes, rugged terrain, hills and canyons. A dream come true and not just for Hermann but for every motor sports enthusiast in America.
